About Lang Dulay

Lang Dulay is a known master Dreamweaver from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. She has mastered the famous T'nalak cloth of South Cotabato's T'boli tribe.

She was recognized and proclaimed a National Living Treasure for "her contribution has brought T’boli and their crafts to the world admired and produced into various fashion and house accessories."

In 1998, then President Fidel V. Ramos bestowed on her the "Gawad Manlilikha Award ng Bayan" in recognition of her contribution to the preservation of Philippine culture.

At the age of 12, she started weaving and was mentored by her very own mother, Luan Senig. With much passion and commitment, she has mastered at least a hundred designs, which are bankiring (hair), kabangi (butterfly), and bulinglangit (clouds).

She stopped weaving at the age of 90 and soon managed to pass on her T'nalak weaving expertise to the young in their community, including four of her grandchildren

Lang Dulay established her "school," Manlilikha ng Bayan Center, after being granted an award by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), with the hopes of training others, including her granddaughters, in the trade.

Using red and black dyes, she spins her stories with grace. Her textiles reflect the wisdom and the visions of her people.
